The switch

Apparently 2025 is the year of the switch to electric vehicles.

Or at least that’s what we’ve noticed at Buckingham Motor Company recently. Yep, it seems more of our consumers are now ditching diesel in favour of electric, which is in line with the trend globally.

So in light of this ongoing switch, I wanted to give you a bit more info about the truth of buying electric – some of which might surprise you…

Like, did you know there’s a 7- or 8-year warranty on the batteries for most electric cars these days?

Much longer than the 3- to 5-year warranty offered for most petrol and diesels, making electric vehicles a more risk-free option if you’re after longevity.

And here’s another unexpected myth-buster for you:

More often than not at the moment, the monthly repayments on used commuter electric cars are actually smaller than on combustion engine cars. Surprise!!

In stark contrast to the EV scene of a couple of years ago, electric vehicles are becoming an increasingly solid option if you don’t want to be coughing up huge sums of cash every month for your motor.

Sitting down and looking at the facts gave me a bit of a shock, and I expect that’ll be the case for lots of our customers too. So to lay things out in simple fashion, I’ve updated the EV page on our website with loads of new info.
