The fear
For most of us, the thought of change is scary.
And it’s that fear which still stops many people from making the switch away from petrol and diesel vehicles, and to electric. Perhaps you’ve experienced the feeling yourself?
Maybe you hold a couple of common misconceptions about electric vehicles…
Perhaps you’ve heard it’s super expensive and you’ll lose loads on the value of your car…
Or you’re not convinced about having to stop for 40 minutes to recharge on a long journey…
But in reality?
The RIGHT electric vehicle could actually massively improve your driving experience, and lower your outgoings too. Here’s how…
More choice, less maintenance, surprisingly low prices
Although buying a brand-new electric vehicle can be quite pricey, used electric vehicles are now extremely reasonable, with more choice on brands and styles than ever before.
And because electric vehicles have fewer moving parts, they require much less maintenance than petrol and diesel engines, making them a great option if you’re looking to save a bit of money.
The price of charging an electric vehicle – particularly if you have a home charger – is also much cheaper than a top-up at the petrol station. We even sold an EV to someone recently, who only has to pay £1.30 to fully charge it overnight.
Compare that with the price of a tank of petrol or diesel…Talk about cost-effective!
Greener, smoother, longer-lasting
What’s more, the design of electric vehicles makes for a smoother driving experience, and they of course help reduce harmful emissions too.
And if it’s longevity you’re after, electric vehicles have petrol and diesel beat there as well. Lots of electric batteries come with a whopping 8-year warranty, a very welcome change to the 3 to 5 years offered on most petrol and diesel batteries. All in all, electric vehicles are a really good option for loads of people – they just don’t know it yet. If you ever want a chat about anything electric, get in touch and I’ll be happy to help, or check out our page where we go through the key things you need to know.
Stay safe out there.
