Running out of juice

I’m sure you can think of a time when you had to make that mental gamble over whether your car could make it home without needing a petrol refill (or in the case of this story, a recharge).

And if you decided to take that risk, cue the feelings of anxiety at running out in the middle of nowhere. Argh!

But there’s good news on that front, because this YouTuber figured out a way to recharge his Tesla’s battery without having to ring for help or spend hours at a charging station.

By having his Tesla towed by another car (a Mercedes-Benz going at 70mph, no less), the man was able to use the regenerative braking being produced to charge the Tesla’s battery.

Amazingly, the man’s plan went just as he hoped, boosting the Tesla’s battery from 14% to 55% in just 25 miles.
