Paying more?
Every day, I’m on the hunt for quality cars for our forecourt, and during one of these searches last week, I noticed something rather odd.
Sharing in case you’re in a similar position as this poor soul.
So last Tuesday I bought a five?year?old Fiesta.?
Its first service was stamped by a Ford dealer, but after that, the owner switched to a non?franchise garage. No problem with that. Only…
…When I read the invoices, two things jumped out:
- The car had actually been “over?serviced”. It received a full service every single year, even during years when it had covered only 5,000?miles.
- The owner had been charged way more for those services than the market price.
It all looked off, so I did some calculations, and it was true:
Over 5 years they’d have saved £461 simply by coming to our Ford service department, and that’s if we’d been seeing the car every year… Which we wouldn’t even have needed to do.
I get the feeling that sometimes, people look at the Ford oval above our door and assume that because we have a Ford service department, we charge a premium.
The truth is that here, your car’s servicing will always follow the manufacturer’s exact schedule – every two years or 18,000 miles for a Fiesta.
And it’ll only undergo the work it actually needs too.
No unnecessary add-ons, no hidden extras.
It’s not just about saving you money, you also get:
- Genuine Ford parts & software updates
- Technicians trained by Ford (so your warranty and resale value stay intact)
- Transparent, fixed pricing, always quoted upfront
- Ford Video Checks: we film any item we think needs attention so you can decide
