Not even evil Knievel
It feels like every week I stumble across a new ridiculous road from across the pond.
But most don’t have you genuinely risking your life to drive on.
A 25 mile stretch of mountain road in Colorado sees drivers climb over 11,000 feet, accompanied by tight curves, steep cliffs… and no barriers.
You’d have thought a sheer drop would give enough reason to install a barrier along the side of the road, but apparently drivers have to rely on their skills and the avoidance of bad luck.
I say that because rockslides are a possibility, and the road even stays open in snow and ice.
For some reason, the road has earned the name “the Million Dollar Highway.” Nobody’s quite sure why, but I’m not sure even a million dollars would be enough to tempt me up it.
I think even Evel Knievel would’ve had butterflies
