It's a car, not a dog

You know it’s summer when it’s time to dig the sunglasses out and crack open the first bottle of factor 30.

Or factor 50 in my case because I tan like… a lobster.

As nice as it is lapping up those summer rays (though I have to say, anything above 25 is a bit toooo hot for me), it’s important you’re taking precautions to protect your vehicle in the heat too.

I know that sounds silly – it’s a car, NOT a dog – but there’s a number of things you might not think twice about leaving in your vehicle, but which can actually damage the interior when they get too hot.

Stuff like disposable vapes, lighters and power banks can leak or explode in high temperatures, damaging the glass and burning holes in the seat.

It’s a similar story for aerosol cans, whether paint or deodorant… might be better to stick to roll-on while you’re out and about.

Check out the other things you should be wary of leaving in your car this summer.

Just something to keep in mind, so you don’t have to spend time and money sorting avoidable repairs.

And if anything does happen to your vehicle – and you’d rather not drive to the south of France with a cracked windshield or a burn mark on your seat – bring it into Buckingham or Bicester Motor Company for a quick pre-holiday fix.

Whatever it is that’s damaged your car (heat related or otherwise), our team of experts will have it feeling right as rain again in no time. And did you know you get a discount when you book your service and MOT together too?
