Diamond means danger
Ever wondered why roundabouts are round, rather than squares? Or triangles? Or diamonds?
I don’t know for sure but I imagine it’s because navigating a car round a circle is much easier than round a diamond.
And this story from down under proves just that.
A truly baffling roundabout in the shape of a diamond – aka a rhombus, giving it the apt name “rhombus-about” – has been built at a busy intersection in Sydney.
I say built… it’s actually just been painted onto the ground, and it’s already got visible wear to it.
Unsurprisingly, drivers are more than a little confused when they reach the rhombus-about. Some just drive straight over it, while others try to navigate its ridiculously sharp corners, all while dealing with oncoming cars.
What makes this whole thing stranger is the city council have no idea how it got there. Road contractors gone wild perhaps? The council also have no clue what it cost or how much it’ll cost to get rid of.
The locals will be hoping diamonds aren’t forever in this case – click here for the full story and to see the rhombus-about yourself.
It’s a baffling creation – nearly as baffling as trying to buy a new vehicle if you’re caught unawares.
You head to the forecourt, hoping to chat things through with a dealer and see a few options…
And suddenly men in sharp suits are trying to upsell you and force you to part ways with your hard-earned cash
Dealerships can be a dangerous place if you’re not careful, but at Buckingham and Bicester Motor Company, we’re committed to always doing right by our customers.
