Bumps in the road

How many potholes have you swerved to avoid on the road this week? They seem to be multiplying by the minute thanks to all this freak weather recently…

And villagers in one area of Wrexham county have become so fed up with the lack of council intervention into their pothole issue, that they’ve made a tourist attraction out of the holes in the road…

Introducing Pothole Land. You couldn’t make it up.

According to the local residents, despite regular requests that the council fixes the potholes plaguing them, the problem persists.

  • Stay alert: Keep a constant eye out for potholes, especially after heavy rain.
  • Avoid puddles: Potholes can hide under standing water, be careful!
  • Maintain a safe speed: Drive slower on damaged roads to give yourself more time.
  • Keep a safe following distance: Allow more space between you and the car in front.
  • Check tyre pressure: Properly inflated tyres help absorb impact and reduce rim damage.
  • Avoid swerving: If you can’t avoid a pothole, slow down and drive through it straight to reduce the impact on your suspension.
  • Watch for clusters: Potholes often occur in groups, so be prepared for more!
  • Inspect your car regularly: Check for damage to tyres, wheels, or alignment.
