27 years walking

Ever wondered how long it’d take to walk around the world?

It’s taken British adventurer Karl Bushby 27 years, but he hasn’t exactly taken the most direct route…

Beginning in 1998 in Chile, Bushby has walked over 47,000km, through deserts, mountain ranges and conflict zones, all with the aim of getting back home to Hull.

His self-imposed rule of no transportation doesn’t exactly speed things up; nor do visa restrictions, financial problems, a global pandemic, and a five-year ban from Russia.

(Throw in an extra 4,800km walk from LA to the Russian Embassy in Washington to protest the ban and you can see why this expedition is taking rather a while!)

Bushby even swam 288km from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, because sometimes walking can only get you so far – click here for the full story.

Safe to say Bushby hasn’t taken the most efficient route to get from A to B (he’s gone through just about every other letter in the alphabet to be honest), and perhaps you sometimes find yourself feeling a little similar with your current vehicle.

I did say ‘a little’ – but it’s true, unexpected breakdowns, worn out tyres, and an inefficient fuel system definitely do make your journeys that bit more challenging.

Most of us can’t set aside an extra hour to get from one place to the next, let alone 27 years – so if your vehicle’s been holding you back, perhaps it’s time for an upgrade?

Here at The Buckingham and Bicester Motor Company, we’ve got loads of great deals on quality cars – why not pop in and see if anything takes your fancy or click HERE to have a browse?

And if you’re planning on hanging onto your current car for a bit longer, bring it in and we’ll check everything’s running as efficiently as it can be.

Let me know if you have any questions or you’d like a chat, and let’s make sure you’re not left relying on your own two feet to get you from A to B.
